Nine artists, from Travis Scott to Keith Richards, posted official GTA 6 artwork within hours of each other on September 15. Rockstar said nothing, but Travis Scott’s phase one caption suggests this rollout is only the opening move.
- Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, and Keith Richards all posted official GTA 6 artwork on September 15, as reported by VICE and LADbible.
- Travis Scott’s caption read Phase 1, promised his return to game would come with rage and a lot of dancing, and spelled out J. O. H., which fans read as the Jack of Hearts strip club.
- Morgan Wallen’s drained pool is the Starlet Motel, a location first seen in the 2022 leaks, while Future, Metro Boomin and Yung Lean shared the same purple Coquette with a Leonida plate reading VCE BBY.
- Rockstar has not commented, and GamingBible notes the posts point at radio and soundtrack roles, though in-game appearances in the style of GTA Online’s Dr Dre update remain possible.
An Artwork Drop With No Press Release
On the afternoon of September 15, official Grand Theft Auto VI artwork started appearing on artist accounts across Instagram and X, one piece after another, each in the same illustrated style Rockstar has used since Trailer 2. Within a few hours the list of posters covered Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, the Argentine duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, as reported by VICE and LADbible. Fred again reshared one of the pieces on his Instagram story with a palm tree emoji, which puts at least ten major names in the frame.
Rockstar itself published nothing. Its only social activity that day was a Red Dead Online post, a contrast several fans found funny and entirely in character. Every reveal came from the artists’ own channels, the same pattern the studio used when it let creators and outlets share exclusive screenshots after the press previews in August. The genre spread is the story in itself: trap, country, Latin pop, UK pop, Swedish cloud rap, Argentine fusion and classic rock, all in one afternoon.
Phase 1 and the Jack of Hearts
Travis Scott’s post is the one doing the most work. The artwork shows a dancer’s heels wrapped around a pole against an orange gradient, and his caption read, in his own formatting, “Phase 1. NOW ITS TIME. MY RETURN TO GAME GOTTA COME WITH RAGE AND ALOT OF DANCING LETS RIDE. J… O. H….. to be continued. See yall soon @rockstargames”, as quoted by LADbible. Fans immediately read the spaced letters as the Jack of Hearts, the Vice City strip club that sits at the centre of Jason and Lucia’s story and employs several named characters.

The phrase return to game is carrying a lot of speculation. Scott’s Fortnite concert in 2020 remains one of the biggest in-game events ever staged, and a reference to rage and dancing reads like more than a licensed track. GTABoom notes the caption says Phase 1 outright, so whatever this campaign is, Rockstar and the artists are telling us it has more phases. Nothing confirms a performance or an in-game appearance yet, and until Rockstar speaks, a radio placement is the safest reading.
One Purple Coquette, Three Artists
Future, Metro Boomin and Yung Lean all posted the same piece: the rear of a purple Coquette wearing a Leonida plate that reads VCE BBY, with a July 12 registration sticker in the corner. The image also went out through FreeBandz, the label Future founded, which is why some outlets credited the label rather than the artists. Three names sharing one artwork has fans guessing that the pieces map to radio stations rather than individuals, with each image standing for the station its artists will appear on.
The sticker date has already spawned a release theory for GTA 6 Online, and the plate itself is a nod the community caught instantly, Vice Baby. None of that is confirmed. What the shared image does establish is that the campaign groups artists together deliberately, and Future and Metro Boomin have a decade of collaborations behind them, so their grouping at least follows the music.
Morgan Wallen’s Pool Is a Leak Location
Morgan Wallen’s piece looks unassuming next to the others, a pool ladder and two lawn chairs over a drained, cracked pool at golden hour. The location is the giveaway. This is the Starlet Motel pool, a spot fans first saw in the 2022 leak footage, long before it appeared in official material. Rockstar choosing it for the country star’s artwork is the first time a location from the stolen 2022 builds has been front and centre in official promotional art.

Wallen is arguably the biggest commercial name in the drop after Scott, and his presence signals how wide the dial will swing. A country voice on a Leonida radio station tracks with the swamp and panhandle side of the map, the same corner of the state where Brian Heder operates.
A Shared Yacht, an Iguana and a Flamingo
The remaining pieces split between water and wildlife. CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso posted a yacht against a hard blue sky, and a PinkPantheress-linked account shared the same image, per GTABoom. Fred again’s story reshare used the yacht too, which makes it the most travelled artwork of the set and, if the station theory holds, suggests an eclectic international station somewhere on the dial.

Keith Richards posted a close-up of an iguana sunning itself, an echo of the Port Gellhorn iguana artwork Rockstar released alongside Trailer 2 and of the lizard that wanders through the Extended Look. Rauw Alejandro’s piece is a pink flamingo floatie drifting in a pool, the same prop Cal Hampton lounged in for one of the official Trailer 2 screenshots. His caption teased a pool party after the club and name-checked Rockstar, per LADbible.

Radio Stations, Cameos or Something Bigger
The plainest reading is that these are radio artists. Every mainline GTA has built its identity on licensed stations, and our soundtrack guide already tracks 22 officially confirmed songs before a single artist partnership was announced. But two details argue for more. Scott’s return to game phrasing and the Jack of Hearts tease read like an in-world presence, and Rockstar has form here: Dr Dre arrived in GTA Online’s Contract update in 2021 with a studio, missions and new music, a template it would be strange to abandon in the bigger game.
There is also a thread suggesting new original music. The producer Hendrix Smoke posted the same Jack of Hearts teaser on his story and tagged Don Toliver, Kodak Black, ATL Jacob and RushDee alongside Scott, per GTABoom, which reads like a session list rather than a playlist. With sixty-four days to November 19, a phase two seems less a question of if than when.
Update: The Artwork Was the Album Roster
Two days after this story ran, Rockstar announced GTA VI: The Album, a 34-track original album with Atlantic Records out November 19, and the campaign snapped into focus. Future, Metro Boomin and Yung Lean shared the Coquette because they share a track, That’s It. The yacht crew became Sexy Magic. Rauw Alejandro’s caption had already named his single, Macacoa 2000, Morgan Wallen’s pool became Last Thing You Need, Keith Richards’ iguana became Bright Lights, Big City, and Travis Scott’s Jack of Hearts piece became RHYNO, produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk. The first six singles are streaming now. Travis Scott’s phase one framing and J. O. H. tease remain unexplained, so this campaign may still have another act.
