Overview

Eurogamer and GamesRadar both logged airboating from the Extended Look, and the footage sells it: flat-bottomed fan boats carving across the wetlands of Grassrivers with spray flying. The series has never had a true airboat before. Vice City’s swamps were scenery and GTA 5’s water demanded proper hulls, so this is a genuine first.

Leisure, work and getting chased

The same craft covers three jobs. The Extended Look frames one ride as a date activity, the swamp economy clearly runs on them, and confirmed police airboats mean pursuits can follow you into water too shallow for anything else.

Mechanically they ride on top of the water rather than in it, so marsh, mudflats and flooded grass all read as open road. Steering comes from rudders in the propeller wash, which should make them slide wide through corners, closer to a hovercraft than a speedboat.
