Street Races

Street racing is expected to light up Vice City after dark, sending tuned cars and bikes flat-out through neon-soaked boulevards in the classic high-speed, high-risk circuit that has anchored every modern GTA.

Overview

Street races are a GTA constant, and a neon Vice City at night is arguably the genre’s ideal stage. Expect illegal point-to-point and circuit races through the city, the natural home for the tuner culture already hinted at in the trailers.

How it works

The loop is pure driving skill: nail your racing line, brake late, use traffic and shortcuts, and keep your car upright at speed. Modifying and tuning the right vehicle for each race would feed directly into the result, linking the activity tightly to the vehicles database.

In the series

From the original midnight races to GTA Online’s vast race catalogue, street racing has been a pillar of the series for decades. Its return in GTA 6 is about as safe a bet as any activity here, with the question being how deep the customisation and event variety go.

Trivia

Street and off-road races are the two halves of the racing scene, splitting the map into clean city circuits and rough backcountry trails.
