Venture Apartments

The Venture Apartments are a tower block in Rockridge and the setting of the Extended Look’s opening mission. Jason heads up the southern tower to collect a package from Raymond’s drug lab for Boobie Ike, the police raid the building mid-handoff, and the escape leaves through a window slightly south of the entrance after the elevator jams. Rob Nelson has said the sequence exists partly because the writers needed a reason to put players inside that building.

Overview

The Venture Apartments open GTA VI’s Extended Look. The first section of the showcase plays out outside and inside this Rockridge tower block, specifically its southern tower, where Jason collects a package for Boobie Ike from Raymond’s drug lab in The Venture Pickup. The name comes from the mapping community’s frame-by-frame reconstruction of the sequence.

The building sits in Rockridge, inside Vice-Dale County, with the Big Smokes Cigar Company storefront visible across the street.

Why it exists

Rob Nelson used this exact building to explain how Rockstar designs its world. Writers create characters to bring players to map locations, and in his words the team needed someone “involved in a tower block getting raided by cops, which that last one is the opening of the extended look, and that’s the Boobie Ike job with Raymond. So, that sequence exists partially because somebody needed a reason to put you in that building.”

Appearances

Featured throughout the opening of the August 2026 Extended Look: a real-time elevator ride up, the drug lab handoff, the police raid, and an escape with multiple routes that ends through a window slightly south of the entrance after the elevator gets stuck. A shot of the raid from the police perspective matches a scene from Trailer 2.

Trivia

Preview coverage highlighted the mission’s multiple escape routes, and one creator suspects the tower job is one of the game’s tent-pole set pieces, which remains a guess.
