Leonida Zoo

The Leonida Zoo is the first full-fledged zoo in the history of Grand Theft Auto, confirmed through Rockstar studio visits and preview coverage rather than the Extended Look itself. Rob Nelson told visiting creators there is a zoo on the map, fully explorable as both Jason and Lucia, where animals can be studied for the RDR2-style checklist. It also works as a date spot that improves the couple’s relationship. Its exact location on the Leonida map is not yet known.

Overview

For the first time in the history of Grand Theft Auto, there is a zoo. The Leonida Zoo surfaced through the August 2026 studio visits, where Rob Nelson told a visiting creator there is a zoo on the map, and preview coverage summed the feature up neatly: you can study animals out in the wild or pop over to the Leonida Zoo.

The zoo plugs into two systems at once. It feeds the Red Dead Redemption 2-style animal study checklist that spans the whole wildlife roster, and it doubles as a date. In Nelson’s words, some people want to go to the zoo and look at animals, go kayaking, or walk down the beach together, all of which build Jason and Lucia’s relationship.

Appearances

The zoo was not shown in the Extended Look. Everything known about it comes from Rockstar-sanctioned studio visits, where creators saw around three hours of gameplay, and from preview compilations. It is visitable as both Jason and Lucia. No footage or screenshots exist yet, which is why this page carries a concept visualization rather than a real frame.

Trivia

A TV clip in Jason and Lucia’s apartment might be a safari-style ad in the same spirit, and fans have floated an electric pedal-cycle safari as a possible activity. Both are guesses. The obvious real-world model is Zoo Miami, the largest zoo in Florida.
