Overview
Rockridge is a confirmed Vice-Dale neighborhood spotted on road signs and in mapping community reconstructions, occupying an inland section of Vice City.
Rockridge sits inside Vice-Dale County on the Leonida map.
Rockridge is the setting for the opening mission of the Extended Look. The mapping community places the first section outside and inside the Venture Apartments, specifically the southern tower, with Jason and Lucia walking southwest towards the block with the highway behind them. The job comes from Boobie Ike, owner of the Jack of Hearts, and sends the pair into the housing block looking for a character named Raymond. Residents in Manatees jerseys size them up on the steps in an in-game scene with camera control rather than a cutscene, Jason can pet, scold or study a dog outside the lift, and the trip up in the elevator is seamless. Inside they find Raymond running a drug operation, learn that his contact Onesto has tipped off the police, and fight their way out as a raid led by the corrupt cop Mendez sweeps the building. When the lift gets stuck, Raymond leads them out through an elderly resident’s apartment and a window slightly south of the building entrance, a shot first seen from another angle in Trailer 2. Rockstar told press that this tower block mission contains multiple escape routes.
Real-World Inspiration
Rockridge is most often compared to the Coconut Grove area. The real Coconut Grove is Miami's oldest neighborhood, a leafy bayside quarter of banyan-shaded streets, sailboat marinas, and village-style shops south of downtown.
Appearances
Rockridge is confirmed by Rockstar Games in official Newswire location copy, trailer footage, and published screenshots. The Extended Look opens here at the Venture Apartments, revisiting the housing block approach from Trailer 2 and the window escape as playable footage. As more material is released we will catalogue specific frame references and timestamps here.
Trivia
As a neighborhood in the GTA VI map, Rockridge is part of Rockstar's wider effort to make Leonida feel like a real place rather than a static set of mission triggers. Expect dynamic events, ambient pedestrians, and small story moments tied to the surroundings.
