Raymond

Raymond is the man Jason and Lucia are sent to find in the Extended Look’s opening mission, a pickup for Boobie Ike that goes about as badly as a pickup can go. He operates a drug lab on an upper floor of the Venture Apartments, behind lookouts, a guarded lobby and a knock-and-announce door policy that makes very clear how little the building trusts outsiders, or Boobie Ike.

He is also, quietly, one of the more distinctive character designs Rockstar has shown. Breakdown channels singled out his long dreads and his Righteous Slaughter Hood OP shirt, a nod to the fictional game franchise that has knocked around the GTA universe since GTA 5. Some fans reckon he is visible in an earlier trailer, though nobody has pinned the frame down conclusively.

The sequence is a guided tour of how GTA 6 handles tension without gunfire. Loiterers outside tell the pair to go in and ask for Raymond. A man in the lobby denies knowing him, then rides the elevator up with them as a self-appointed escort. A wrong door, a password of a name, and finally the lab itself: cooks in their underwear and rubber gloves working tables of product while Raymond takes the meeting.

Then the phone rings. Ernesto, on speakerphone, warns that his friends on the task force are on their way, and that they are coming to take, not to arrest. Raymond’s response is to threaten Ernesto with the man he keeps outside Ernesto’s mother’s house, which tells you a fair bit about how he runs his business. Seconds later the doors come off their hinges and Mendez and his unit flood the floor.

Raymond earns his keep in the escape. With the raid tearing through the lab, he leads Jason and Lucia to a neighbouring apartment, an elderly resident’s place he has clearly used before, and gets them out through the window past the AC unit. One shot in the sequence recreates a Trailer 2 moment from a fresh angle, the kind of continuity detail Rockstar seeds for the frame-by-frame crowd.

Fans generally assume Raymond survives the raid, since he exits ahead of the pair and knows the building better than anyone chasing him. Whether he returns as a mission giver, an ally or a loose end is one of the Extended Look’s more interesting open threads.
