Raul Bautista

Raul is the seasoned heister of the cast, described in Extended Look coverage as a mastermind bank robber. Rockstar’s Trailer 2 portrait shows him in a back room, gold phone to ear, with bank monitors out of focus behind him. A companion still places him behind the wheel of a coupe, leather jacket and gloves on, a stack of cash on the passenger seat and a pistol in the centre console.

Trailer 2 positions Raul as the operator who brings Lucia into bigger jobs, and the Extended Look shows how that relationship starts. Jason and Lucia’s first meeting with Raul is a getaway: he has just robbed the Fleeca bank across the street, and they collect him with a four-star wanted level already on the screen, Lucia driving while Jason leans half out of the window to shoot out pursuing cars' tyres. The couple rib him about pulling a bank job on a Friday morning as he climbs in. Once they break line of sight in a side alley, Lucia needles Raul about whether his jobs always go to plan, and he answers that there will always be some kind of complication, that a professional adapts, and asks whether she is a professional. She says of course, and he replies that he needs a professional. The crew then pulls into a car park, torches the getaway car and switches to a van, at which point the vehicle indicator disappears from the wanted display and police cars ignore them; it is the showcase’s clearest demonstration of covering your tracks after a job.

At this point in the story Jason and Lucia are framed as small-time operators who have come to Raul precisely so a veteran can show them how bigger work is done, and a cutscene follows in which they ask about joining his crew before the game hands control back for them to scope out an area. He turns up again later in a shootout alongside Jason, a sign that his jobs will not always go to plan. He is one of the rare named adults shown both planning and executing on-screen, which is a strong signal that a heist arc forms a core part of the campaign.

Rockstar’s short character bios describe him in promotional copy as charming; the trailer’s framing leans into a polite, calculated demeanour rather than the volatility of past GTA antagonists.

The van the crew switches into after torching the getaway car carries two bumper stickers, one reading that the driver only brakes for spray cheese and another claiming his other ride is a purple helmet.

One Easter egg hunter notes that Raul’s outfit on the GTA VI cover art echoes the look of Lance Vance from the original Vice City, read as a deliberate nod rather than a story link.
