The Vice Job

A community theory: the game’s first true planned heist, a daytime robbery of a Vice City financial target that escalates the pair from petty crime into organised jobs. There is no confirmed mission by this name.

Overview

The Vice Job is the community’s shorthand for the first big planned heist they expect the game to build toward, somewhere after the petty robberies and before the late-game vault haul. It is a structure theory, not a confirmed mission, and the name is entirely fan-coined.

The theory

The thinking goes that once Raul Bautista recruits the pair for bigger risks, the story needs a first proper heist to mark the jump from opportunists to operators. Whether that exists, and whether it is set in Vice City, is unconfirmed.

Why people believe it

GTA V trained players to expect a build-up heist early in the criminal arc: recon, prep, then execution with crew choices. Fans are pattern-matching that template onto what the trailers show, which is reasonable but not evidence of this specific job.

Trivia

“The Vice Job” started as a placeholder name on the wiki’s mission board and stuck, mostly because it sounds like something Rockstar would actually call a mission.
