The Mega Mundo Gala

The Extended Look saves its biggest set piece for last. Valentina hires Jason and Lucia as private security for the opening party of Mega Mundo’s first American headquarters, and her brief is a small masterpiece of Vice City cynicism: “The job is Andrés de León. Protect him, but keep him in line. Gas him up. Boost his ego. Make him feel good about himself.”

Mega Mundo itself reads as a parody of Telemundo, the Spanish-language TV network, and the gala shows off the ultra-rich end of Vice City after a showcase spent mostly among its hustlers.

The job starts at the airport, inside the terminal, where Andrés de León steps off a private jet asking his assistant, “Did you NDA all of the flight attendants?” He greets his new security detail as only he can: “Sorry, guys. I’m a hugger. I’m a hugger. Come in here.” At the party, Petra Navarro is introduced as Mega Mundo’s COO, the couple’s guns are confiscated at the door, and the pair split: Jason rides upstairs with Andrés and his entourage, waiting through elevator music and a Phil Collins needle drop, while Lucia works the gala floor. Upstairs, Andrés and friends retreat into a think tank to do cocaine, and his big speech about family is cut off mid-sentence by armed men shouting “Everybody on the ground.”

The attack kicks off the longest gameplay stretch of the whole showcase. Control switches between the leads mid-mission: Jason texts Lucia, Lucia sneaks out on the bottom floor, and the pair coordinate through lines like “Nice distraction, Jay. A bit dramatic.” A bomb is revealed, the attackers take Andrés hostage, and Jason picks up a Duke 556 assault rifle mid-fight. Focus slow-motion highlights enemy weak points in red for lethal and yellow for disarm, and a finishing-move cinematic triggers. The closing stretch also packs in a sticky bomb planted in an elevator and Lucia dropping an attacker with her heel, though the showcase edit leaves the exact venue of those beats ambiguous.

Valentina is the first confirmed character to jump from a previous GTA game into GTA VI, having appeared in GTA Online’s Money Fronts update. Some coverage calls Petra Navarro the CEO rather than COO, and fans have floated a family link to Ray Navarro of GTA 5, which is a guess. One creator suspects the gala is one of the game’s tent-pole missions.
