Rockstar x Wynwood Walls: Free Museum Entry for Miami and the Artists Behind Stockyard Finally Named

+5 XP for Sharing

Rockstar and Wynwood Walls have signed a real partnership: free museum entry for Miami-Dade residents through 2028, ten new murals painted from GTA 6 in-game art, and a merch collection that finally puts names to Stockyard’s artists.

Quick take
  • Miami-Dade residents get free Wynwood Walls entry through 2028
  • Ten murals made for GTA 6 stay on view until January 1, 2027
  • Stockyard is officially the in-game Wynwood counterpart
  • The Art of Vice City collection names the artists at last
  • Sold only through Wynwood Walls, not the Rockstar Store

Free Entry for the People Who Live There

Rockstar Games and Wynwood Walls, the outdoor mural museum that has anchored Miami street art since 2009, announced a partnership on October 14 that gives every Miami-Dade County resident free admission through 2028, two full years past the game’s launch. A valid photo ID or student ID with a Miami-Dade address gets you a free digital membership, set up online or at the welcome centre, and the card lives in your phone wallet. Children under 12 enter free as always, family members under 18 can be added, and out-of-county guests pay the normal ticket price.

The free ticket covers the rotating murals and sculptures, indoor exhibitions at the Goldman Global Arts Gallery, a hands-on spray painting experience and a new artist-in-residence programme where visitors can watch muralists working on site. After months of city hall arguments about GTA branding on Ocean Drive, this is Rockstar funding a straightforwardly popular civic perk.

Ten Murals, and the Names Behind Them at Last

The museum side of the deal puts GTA 6 on real walls. Ten new murals commissioned for the world of the game are up across the campus and the surrounding Wynwood neighbourhood, on view until January 1, 2027 per ARTnews, and the same report settles an old question officially: the artworks were conceived for Stockyard, the Wynwood Walls style district of Vice City.

The names are the real story. Back in August the Dazed profile of the game’s development revealed that more than 50 real street artists had painted Stockyard’s walls, none of them named, and the hand-painted campaign walls went uncredited too. Now the roster is public. ATOMIK, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton made the ten murals, with the game’s wider street and tattoo art curated by the Detroit agency 1XRUN. One attribution stands out: the We Love Vice City wall painted in Wynwood days before the announcement is Queen Andrea’s, the same motif that hung over the Hard Rock Stadium takeover as an I Heart Vice City banner.

The Art of Vice City, Sold Only at the Walls

Alongside the murals, Wynwood Walls opened pre-orders for The Art of Vice City, a merch collection built on the actual in-game artwork and sold only through the museum, not the Rockstar Store. The opening line-up pairs each artist with one piece: Tristan Eaton’s Leonida T-shirt, Queen Andrea’s We Love Vice City beach towel, AHOL’s Eye Got You hoodie, D*Face’s Hit the Road laptop sleeve, FAILE’s Vice City Paradise cap, a GTAVI water bottle from 1010 and DENIAL’s We All Have Baggage tote bag.

Yes, it is another thing to buy in a marketing run that keeps selling merch instead of showing new footage, landing in the same loud Miami month as the Goodyear zeppelin and the stadium wrap. But this drop routes the money and the credit through a museum and its artists rather than a licensing department, and as the murals get matched to their in-game walls after launch, the names above are the reference list.
