A hand-painted GTA 6 mural of Jason and Lucia is taking shape at Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street in Williamsburg, the same corner Rockstar painted for GTA 5 in 2013, and the first colour blocks point to the motel-room key art of Jason and Lucia rather than the getaway-car piece fans first guessed.
- A photo posted by Reddit user u/Salty_Scrotum on 1 October showed the mural outline at Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
- The sketch shows the stacked Grand Theft Auto logo with Jason and Lucia holding guns among palm trees, and it is being painted by hand, per RockstarINTEL and Kotaku.
- Early guesses said the getaway-car vinyl art, but the first colour blocks line up with the motel-room key art of Jason and Lucia, a community reading Rockstar has not confirmed.
- Rockstar painted its GTA 5 mural on the same corner in 2013, so the location choice looks deliberate rather than convenient.
- A creator claim that the wider campaign ramps up in mid October with billboards and transit ads remains unverified.
An Outline First, Then the Colour
On 1 October a Reddit user going by u/Salty_Scrotum posted a photo of a wall at Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street in Williamsburg getting fresh linework. The sketch was unmistakable even without colour: the stacked Grand Theft Auto logo in the centre, Jason and Lucia on either side with guns in hand and palm trees filling the space between them. RockstarINTEL picked the photo up the same day and noted the piece was still a bare outline.
This is a hand-painted wall, not a printed wrap. Kotaku reported that fans had spotted painters working on it during the week and expected the finished mural within days, and the Complex Pop Culture account shared the same outline photo on 1 October, which is how most feeds first saw it.

The Same Corner Rockstar Painted in 2013
The location carries most of the meaning. Rockstar used this exact Williamsburg intersection for a hand-painted GTA 5 mural in 2013, part of a campaign that also put walls up in Manhattan and Los Angeles, and both GTANews and Ascendants flagged the return to the spot as deliberate. For anyone who followed the GTA 5 run-up, a fresh coat of paint on that corner reads as a signal, not a coincidence.
New York murals have been part of Rockstar launches since the GTA IV era, and the studio has favoured hand-painted outdoor work in Brooklyn for well over a decade. No agency or artist has been credited for the new wall so far, and Rockstar itself has not acknowledged the mural at all, which is also how the 2013 one went up.
The Art on the Wall Looks Familiar
The first community guesses pointed at the getaway-car key art from the album campaign, the piece printed on the Blood Records vinyl sleeve. The wall itself has started correcting them. The first colour blocks and the silhouettes inside them line up with the motel-room key art instead: Jason and Lucia lounging on a bed, a pistol resting in Lucia’s lap, the quiet piece Rockstar released alongside Trailer 2 in May 2025. Kotaku’s description of a mural showing the two of them hanging out points the same way.

Until the paint is finished the match stays a community reading, but it would be a telling pick. Most of the campaign art carries drawn guns or a getaway car. The motel piece is the one that sells the relationship instead, and putting it on a Brooklyn wall six weeks before launch suggests Rockstar wants the pair, not the chaos, fronting the street push.
Read It as the Starting Gun
The mural landed in the middle of the busiest marketing week the game has had: age ratings were finalised across every major board, LOVE Magazine put Jason and Lucia on its cover, and the Miami Heat announced a full Vice City takeover night with the Kaseya Center roof sign already lit. A painted wall in Brooklyn fits the same pattern Rockstar ran in 2013, where the murals marked the start of the street-level push.
One widely shared creator video claims the main campaign ramps up around the middle of October with billboards, transit takeovers and YouTube placements. Nothing official supports that date yet, so treat it as a rumour. What is certain is the calendar: Grand Theft Auto VI releases on 19 November, and the walls are going up now.
