A missing Bilibili post has the GTA 6 community convinced trailer three is imminent. Here is the pattern, the evidence and how much of it actually holds up.
- Rockstar usually posts to Chinese platform Bilibili a few hours before its X account, and today that post is missing
- Fans have flagged the same silence before big co-ordinated reveals, most recently the GTA 6 pre-order rollout
- Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick already told investors the final GTA 6 marketing push kicks off this summer
- Nothing is confirmed. An empty Bilibili feed has been a false alarm before, so treat every screenshot with a healthy dose of skepticism
The Missing Bilibili Post
Rockstar’s Chinese social feed went quiet on Tuesday, 23 July, and the GTA 6 community immediately clocked it. No routine Bilibili post, no GTA Online update, no Red Dead Online drop. Just silence. And for a fanbase that has learned to read Rockstar’s posting habits like tea leaves, silence means something is coming.
The theory is simple. Rockstar tends to publish on Bilibili, one of China’s biggest video platforms, a few hours before the same content lands on X for Western audiences. So when a routine Tuesday post fails to show up, the assumption is that the studio is holding back for a global reveal instead. It is the same pattern people flagged around the GTA 6 pre-order launch a month ago, when Rockstar co-ordinated the drop across regions and skipped its usual China-first cadence.
Whether that actually means trailer three lands today is a completely different question.
Why Fans Are So Sure This Time

Reddit is where the case gets made. User Rsodyyy laid it out plainly: “Trailer three today? No post on bilibili, five weeks since the cover reveal, and four weeks to the day of pre-orders opening.” That kind of rough arithmetic reads like paranoia in isolation, but stack it against Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick telling investors the “final marketing push” starts this summer, and it stops feeling ridiculous.
Another commenter, -PANORAMIX-, floated a different bet: next week, one week before Take-Two earnings. That one has its own logic, since Rockstar has form for lining big reveals up with parent-company financial windows.
And then there’s the mood. “IT HAS TO LETS FUCKING GO BOYS,” wrote Electronic-Joke-4785, which is basically the emotional temperature of the whole community right now. This is a fanbase that has been waiting more than a decade for a new mainline GTA. Every Tuesday feels like it could be the day, and every Tuesday it isn’t hurts a little more.
Why None of This Is Proof
Here is the part nobody in the hype threads wants to hear: an empty Bilibili feed has led to nothing plenty of times before. Rockstar doesn’t post every single day, and a missed Tuesday is not a smoking gun. The studio has given zero public indication that trailer three drops today, tomorrow or next week.
The tuesday-and-thursday pattern is real. Rockstar does seem to favour those days for big announcements. But “Rockstar likes Tuesdays” and “Rockstar is dropping the trailer this Tuesday” are two very different sentences, and the community keeps eliding the gap between them.
As Rsodyyy also said in the same thread, “It would be insane and very surprising if they go the whole of July without absolutely nothing.” That part actually is fair. July is almost gone. If Zelnick’s summer marketing push is real, we are running out of runway.
Why Rockstar Needs This Win

The desperation for another trailer isn’t just curiosity. It is also about changing the subject. The last few months have been rough for Rockstar, and a slick minute of gameplay would reset the whole conversation.
First, the physical release mess. It came out that GTA 6 wouldn’t ship as a proper disc-based physical copy at all. You either buy digital, or you buy a box that contains a code. That went down badly with retailers. Several US chains said they’d boycott stocking what they called a “fake” physical edition.
Then, the price. The base game at £69.99 / $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at £89.99 / $99.99 were mostly fine. Steep, but in line with everything else lately. What broke the ceasefire was the reveal that the Ultimate Edition locks story content, missions and in-game shops behind that higher tier, not just cosmetics. For a narrative-driven series, that felt like a line got crossed.
Then, Sony. The “best on PS5” branding aged badly the moment PlayStation announced it plans to stop making physical games from January 2028. For a minute, PlayStation was even running a GTA 6-styled neon logo on social. That got quietly reverted, but the optics of Rockstar’s biggest platform partner going all-digital while Rockstar itself was already taking heat for the physical-copy fiasco was a bad look.
What a New Trailer Would Actually Do

Trailer three does one very specific thing for Rockstar: it puts the game back on screen instead of the business model around it. Every day the trailer doesn’t drop, the conversation stays on pricing tiers, physical boycotts and Sony logos. Every day it does drop, the conversation is back on Jason, Lucia, Vice City and whatever set piece Rockstar decides to open with.
The Bilibili silence might be nothing. It has been nothing before. But the calendar pressure is real, the investor briefings are real, and Rockstar’s current PR headwind is very real. Sooner or later, someone at the studio is going to decide the best answer to all of it is a new sixty seconds of GTA 6. Whether that’s today or a Tuesday in August, it feels closer than it did last week.
Until then, everyone keeps refreshing.
