Rockstar and the Miami Heat announced A Night in Vice City: on 18 November 2026, the eve of GTA 6’s launch, the Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center on a custom Vice City court, in a uniform the team has never worn, live on ESPN.
- On 18 November 2026, one day before GTA 6 launches, the Miami Heat play the Milwaukee Bucks as Vice City at Kaseya Center, 7pm Eastern, live on ESPN.
- The night runs on special hardwood built for Vice City and an all-new uniform the franchise has never worn, with both designs still under wraps.
- A Vice City merch collection is already live on the Heat’s store, from a “Went to Vice City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt” tee to I Love Vice City shirts.
- The Welcome to Vice City sign atop Kaseya Center was lit on 1 October to open the partnership, with panels airlifted into place by helicopter.
- The Heat’s own website has been restyled around the collaboration, and the team promises activations inside the arena from opening night onwards.
One Night Only: The Heat Trade Miami for Vice City
The strangest sentence of the marketing campaign so far is also an official one: on 18 November 2026, the Miami Heat will not be the Miami Heat. The franchise announced A Night in Vice City on 2 October, a one-night rebrand for the home game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center, tipping off at 7pm Eastern and airing nationally on ESPN, with Local 10 carrying it in South Florida. The date is no accident. GTA 6 launches the next morning, on 19 November, and the game’s Vice City is Rockstar’s Miami.
“For one night only, the HEAT trade Miami for Vice City,” the team’s announcement reads. “Join us on November 18, when Vice City hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on a never-before-seen court, wearing an all-new uniform.” The club calls it a first-of-its-kind sports crossover, and it is hard to argue: an NBA franchise has never renamed itself after a video game city for a nationally televised fixture.

A Court Built for Vice City and a Uniform Nobody Has Seen
Two physical centrepieces anchor the night. The first is the court itself, special hardwood the team describes as built for Vice City, used for this single game. The second is an all-new uniform the franchise has never previously worn. Neither design has been revealed, and the Heat are collecting sign-ups for a reveal mailing list rather than showing anything early. GameSpot notes the matchup carries its own storyline too, with Giannis Antetokounmpo facing the Bucks, the team he spent his whole career with until this season.
Around the game sit what the announcement calls unique game-night activations, plus special activities inside Kaseya Center that start on the Heat’s opening night and build towards 18 November. Details on all of it are promised later, which means this story has at least two more beats coming: the uniform reveal and the court reveal.

The Vice City Collection Is Already on Sale
While the court waits, the merchandise does not. A Vice City Collection went live on the Heat’s store alongside the announcement, and the range reads like Rockstar wrote the copy. There is a 55 dollar tee that says “Went to Vice City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt”, a 45 dollar I Love Vice City shirt, Court Culture pieces, an alligator pool-service tee, a 100 dollar hoodie and a row of snapbacks and dad caps. For a fanbase that has been buying datamined merch lists sight unseen, official crossover apparel a month and a half before launch will not sit on shelves long.
The Sign Is Lit and the Heat’s Website Went Full Rockstar
The partnership formally opened on 1 October with the lighting of the Welcome to Vice City signage on the roof of Kaseya Center, the piece fans watched being assembled after Miami approved the city-wide takeover. The panels were airlifted into place by helicopter, and the first night’s test lit only part of the sign before the full display followed. The Heat’s own website has been restyled around the collaboration as well, right down to a recreation of the ferris wheel shot from the pre-order teaser, which is the kind of detail that suggests Rockstar’s art direction, not a licensing intern.
