The Uncle Jack’s Robbery

By Mission deskUpdated recently

Overview

Uncle Jack’s Liquor is a real, named storefront shown in the trailers, complete with joke signage about no longer accepting cash stored in underwear. We see Lucia and Jason inside it during what reads as a stick-up, which is exactly the kind of low-stakes crime Rockstar’s official synopsis describes before things spiral.

Story

Rockstar’s line is that an easy score goes wrong and pulls the couple into the darkest side of the sunniest place in America. A liquor-store robbery is small enough to be that “easy score,” which is why the community keeps pointing at this scene as a likely early-game job rather than a late set piece.

What we actually see

Confirmed on screen: the named store, the interior, and the two protagonists committing a robbery. The trailer also shows store and gas-station robberies more generally, hinting at a dynamic robbery system. The objectives, payout and whether this specific job is scripted or freeform are all unconfirmed.

Trivia

The “Pindayho” Spanish beer ad in the store is a play on a Spanish swear word, the sort of background joke that has been in every GTA game and that fans comb the trailers for frame by frame.
