Overview
Rockstar made it official on October 8, 2026: Cocoteo FM is Leonida's home for the best of modern Latin music, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata and running from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton. Rockstar's own pitch calls it el party que nunca se apaga, the party that never switches off, and the official artwork, two halved coconuts with cartoon eyes, confirms the name was never a placeholder.
Cocoteo FM first appeared in the 10th leaked gameplay clip of August 2026, part of the batch that grew the known dial from nine stations to fifteen. The name is Puerto Rican slang for a sweaty, full-throttle reggaeton party, which is about as clear a format statement as a station name can make.
A dedicated reggaeton channel has felt inevitable for a game set in a Latin-heavy Vice City, and trackers like GTA Base already file Cocoteo FM under Latin and reggaeton, pairing it with Girl by Myke Towers from the leaked clip's audio.
What we actually know
The station, its format and its hosts El Martillo and La Gata are now official, announced on the Rockstar Newswire on October 8, 2026, with a preview stream live at the Music section of Rockstar's site. The Myke Towers pairing still comes from leak trackers reading the August 2026 clip audio rather than an on-screen label, so treat that one as informed inference, and no frequency has surfaced yet.
Trivia
If the slang name sticks, Cocoteo FM would be the series' most direct nod yet to the reggaeton and perreo culture that Radio Espantoso and East Los FM only circled. Myke Towers being the first artist attached fits: the Puerto Rican rapper is one of the genre's biggest current names.
