Mount Kalaga National Park sits at the top of the map, on the state’s northern fringes against the rumored Gloriana border. Rockstar’s official text leans into the outsider feel of the area, with hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals living far from government oversight. The park itself offers hunting, fishing, kayaking, and off road trails, and is home to deer, foxes, and cougars. The canyon system at the heart of the park is a deliberate nod to Georgia’s Providence Canyon, with red and orange clay walls cutting through pine and oak forest. Expect roadside diners, gun ranges, fire towers, militia compounds, and meth-cooking trailers in the backwoods around the park boundary. Rob Nelson has named Mount Kalaga among the areas outside Vice City that were chosen deliberately for what they add to the map.

The Extended Look barely shows the park. Creators who combed the footage count a single brief dirt biking shot as most likely Mount Kalaga, one of the only shots of the northern half of the map in the whole video, and note that the footage is weighted heavily towards Vice City. Mount Kalaga is also visible far to the north on the horizon in a screenshot taken from Vice City. The best look at its wildlife comes indirectly, from an in-game TV commercial for the Chacey’s Prairie Sandwich, an Arby’s parody, which cuts through countryside full of squirrels, birds, hares, hogs, deer and a bison. One preview attendee believes the ad is set in Mount Kalaga on the northern part of the map, while another breakdown thinks the countryside footage is lifted from Red Dead Redemption 2, so the setting is unconfirmed. Animals throughout Leonida can be studied and catalogued as in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The park also appears on the August 2026 leaked map, which community reconstructions place inside the northern Lummox County. On the official side, Rockstar’s June 2026 pre-order reveal pitches the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy as a Mud Club monster built for the backwoods of Mount Kalaga.

Mount Kalaga National Park is drawn from North Florida and South Georgia, with canyons resembling Providence Canyon State Park. The real Providence Canyon, Georgia's Little Grand Canyon, is a network of orange and pink gullies carved into soft soil by 19th century farming erosion.
