Overview

Am Loco is the passenger rail operator of Leonida, and the gag lands the moment you say it out loud. Amtrak becomes Am Loco, which is Spanish for “I’m crazy”, a fitting slogan for anyone commuting through Vice City. The branding was spotted on a passenger train in the Extended Look by Easter egg hunters.

Trains are more than scenery. During the August 2026 studio visits, Rob Nelson confirmed you can ride public transport: bus stops appear on the minimap with an NPC waiting, and you can sit through the journey or skip it, which works as fast travel. On rail specifically, Nelson said: “There’s a train. You can get on the train. I don’t know if train is going to be fast travel. I can’t confirm that, but I would assume so.” Taxis and a rideshare app round out the options for getting around without stealing anything.

Trivia

The Am Loco sighting sits alongside a run of Leonida licence plate spots in the same coverage, including a race-car plate, personalised VICE plates and a state flag design.
