The community identification for its real-world basis is the Remington 870, the default American pump gun for the better part of a century.

The name itself is the story. GTA weapons have historically shipped with generic labels like Pump Action Shotgun, while Red Dead Redemption 2 gave its guns fictional manufacturers and model numbers. The Moreland 850 confirms GTA VI is adopting the Red Dead convention, giving Vice City’s arsenal branded makes and models of its own.

Identified during the Extended Look, the 26-minute gameplay showcase Rockstar premiered in August 2026, where weapon pickups display full brand names on screen. GTA Base lists it as confirmed and customisable with attachments and tints. It has not been catalogued in either trailer under its own name.

The 850 model number sits one digit off the Remington 870 it apes, the same nudge-and-wink numbering Rockstar uses across its vehicle brands. It joins the unbranded Pump Action Shotgun and Double Barrel Shotgun already catalogued from the 2022 leak, and it is an open question whether those entries end up folded into branded weapons like this one in the final game.
