Overview

ZiT started life in GTA IV as the number you texted to identify a song on the radio, which was Shazam before most phones could run Shazam. The Extended Look brings it back as a logo with a Spotify style scan code on an NPC’s shirt, suggesting the service pivoted to streaming somewhere between eras. The GTA Wiki covers both readings.

Few GTA brands have had an actual product arc. ZiT has a business model history.

Real-world basis
Shazam and Spotify
The GTA Wiki tracks ZiT as Shazam in its song ID days and reads the VI era logo and code as Spotify inspired.
