V-Rock

V-Rock is the long-running hard rock and heavy metal station from the original Vice City. It is the single radio brand with visible evidence in GTA VI: Jason wears a faded V-Rock t-shirt in official footage, and the worn, aged look of the shirt has fuelled debate about whether the station is still on air or a piece of nostalgia from a station that has since gone dark.

Either reading is interesting. A returning, modernised V-Rock would tie GTA VI directly to its 2002 predecessor, while a defunct V-Rock referenced only through old merch would be a quiet bit of world-building about how much time has passed in Leonida.

Rockstar has not announced a tracklist, a host, or a frequency for V-Rock in GTA VI. There are now two hard data points: the shirt in official footage, and the station's name in the radio menu visible in the August 2026 gameplay leak. Everything beyond that, including the full playlist and who hosts it, is unconfirmed.

In August 2026, leaked gameplay clips showed a radio station selector rendered as a row of square icons across the top of the screen, with a mute option and an on-demand music option, rather than the radio wheel of GTA V. V-Rock was one of nine stations visible in that menu, settling the active-or-defunct debate in favour of an active station, at least in the build that leaked.

The player scrolled past V-Rock while it played For What It's Worth by Stevie Nicks. The footage is believed to come from an older development build and Rockstar has not commented, so treat every detail as provisional until an official station list exists. In the 2002 Vice City, V-Rock was hosted by Lazlow and built around late-70s and 80s hard rock and metal. Its identity as the loud, rebellious counterpoint to the city's pop and synth stations made it one of the most recognisable brands in the series, which is part of why a single shirt was enough to set off this much speculation.

The faded condition of the shirt is the detail fans keep returning to. A crisp, new shirt would suggest an active station with current merchandise, while a worn one leans toward a vintage keepsake. Until Rockstar shows the radio wheel, both theories stay alive.
